Ho Hum Picture for a Ho Hum post ;)
Update: The people who came out to J's to look at horses last Sunday called J to tell her that they decided the horses weren't for them. They said that because they needed a show horse right now, to go into the ring and perform all day for days on end, it needed to be in good show condition. J's horses aren't ridden much - I really am the only one who rides them, and I only get out there about once a week. Even at that, I don't ride all of them. Maybe 1 or 2. It's true, they need to be conditioned, and I respect the buyer's honesty. It's also nice that they called so J's not left wondering and worrying. Of course, I think J is on the defense. She's worked up because the people only left a message AND she thinks the young girl is too inexperienced to be showing at the Regional and National level. Technically, it's not my or J's business, so I'll stay out of it. They were nice people and responsible horse owners; I wish them the best of luck! Who knows, maybe they'll be back in the end. (the lady told me I was a very pretty rider, so maybe I'm a little biased - I hear very little in the way of compliments while I ride, so I soak them up when I get 'em) Guess I'm easily swayed ;).
Contro is one fat man, he was a huffin' and a puffin' with just the short half hour ride we put on him Sunday. I think I'm going to set a goal. Each Sunday I am going to either ride or lunge Contro, Sid and Bobby. Maybe Gizmo if I have time....maybe I can wrangle a few riders too, I mean who wouldn't want to come ride for free? They'd just have to be somewhat experienced or J won't have it....understandably so.
Hmmm....since this is a random post, I guess I'll just keep babbling. I'm thinking about getting some full seat breeches. I've never needed them, but this sitting the trot in Dressage is not easy. My current knee patch only breeches are slipp-er-y. I moaned and groaned about that a few posts ago. All I'm going to say here is that a little extra stick can't hurt. I have one hold back on the full seats though, I'm afraid that after riding in full seat breeches, I won't be able to sit ANY trot without that extra grip. What if I lose my seat? How silly does that sound, really?!? I think it would be a good thing though, to have extra stick, because in Dressage there's just so much going on at all times that not having to worry about my seat so much would really benefit everything else, like steering the horse and not running over my instructor.
I'm also having a dilemma about boots. My mom got me a pair of Ariat Field Boots for Christmas, that I had to return due to sizing. Anyway, I've been looking at field boots, but now I'm wondering if I should just get dress boots - SIGH - what to do, what to do?!? Maybe dress boots now, field boots later if I need them. I've always shown Morgans in Dress Boots and it's never made a difference - it's just not the "style", but who really cares anyway?
With that said, I suppose I should get back to work (NAUGHTY). Fridays have been very slow, so, well, I guess there's no excuse - it's just plain bad. I'm about to assemble a big confusing report, so that's my cue to scurry off the internet :).
I Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend full of sunshine and horses!!!!

*drool* Ariat Field Boots...
It's nice that those people called to let J know they weren't interested. Most people don't bother to let you know.
I've never ridden in full seat breaches before. I know a lot of people who love them, but I've never had a desire to get a pair. If you get some, let us know how you like them. :)
I think it's nice they called back to let her know they'd made a decision even if they only did leave a message. I hate when people say they will call and then just leave me hanging instead of being honest and saying it's not what they're looking for.
