Over the weekend, J called and asked if I'd like to join her and watch a few classes at the Michigan All Morgan horse show. To be honest, I had very little interest in going. I don't want to pick up the horse show bug again until I own my own horse. I could really begin a very long rant here, but I won't. All I'll say is that showing with J is incredibly stressful. At our last show together, she and I had words. She said some rude things and I ended up vowing to her that I wouldn't show at an A show with her again. At least not on her horses. J is an incredible instructor, she just has a tendency to focus on the negative.
Anyway, I did enjoy watching the horse show. I was there on Sunday afternoon to watch the final Championship classes of the show. Though it seemed numbers were quite low, the quality of the horses was as good as ever. The hunter classes especially were high in numbers and quality. Some gorgeous horses and riders!! The class I most wanted to see was the Western Pleasure Championship. J and I bantered back and forth about who we thought would win. I gloated when the horse I chose took Champion to J's Reserve - HA! She thinks she's such an expert! Both horses were and are gorgeous, my choice is just a nicer mover than J's - - - heh heh heh!!

Can you see the horse underneath all of that blur? If you can, does he look familiar?

He is now a walk trot horse - his name is Menomin Flash Dancer. To me, he is just stunning! He seems to do a good job with his walk trot rider, they are pretty cute together.
**I am using the full names of the horses, but I worry. I did take the image of Flash Dancer off of Google Images - I hope I don't get scolded!

Here are the winners. Two beautiful Morgan horses!!

We also watched the English Pleasure classes. One of my favorite horses, Nocturnal Flash, was in a few of them. He is so handsome and always seems like such a gentleman (I wouldn't really know, though). He didn't place as high as I thought he should have at this show, but he still is a winner in my book. His flashy color really helps him stand out too, don't you think?

Nocturnal Flash ~ I bet you're super impressed by my awesome photo skills! I couldn't NOT blur the pictures with my little Casio Point and Shoot...hmmph!
I will post more about my weekend in the next few days, I've still got to post about my dressage lesson and riding Sid! If I did it all in one post, it would be like a novel.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!!

As much as I love showing, sometimes it's fun to go as a spectator. The local shows I take Lilly to keep me busy ALL DAY, but the bigger weekends shows allow for some down time and I really enjoy sitting in the stands and watching the other horses and riders. I learn so much when I do that.
I'm glad you were able to go and had fun this time around. ;)
Hi JJ!
I saw your comment about Janine's story about Pali. Thought you might enjoy this clip of one of our students playing with her horses and riding bareback and bridless!

I can never get good pictures at a horse show from the indoor arena's. I've tried everything and they still blur. I just don't think it's possible with a point and shoot.
Beautiful horses, loved that english horse! Have I ever told you that I learned how to ride horses on a Morgan? I was 7 yrs old, and my neighbor gave me and my sister lessons on her Morgan mare. Loved that horse!
