I've been feeling much better. I tell ya', I didn't think I was going to make it through that morning sickness...eck! I started feeling much better a few weeks ago. Currently, I'm just about 17 1/2 weeks along. Thank goodness humans don't have the gestation period of a horse, no thank you! ;)
I've been riding here and there. I plan on riding until I just can't. I'm assuming that will leave me until maybe mid to end of August, so that's not too terrible.
Mainly, I've been riding with my mom. Nothing new there. We take turns on which horse we ride, but I've been sticking mainly to Lady Bird as she's most reliable in my current state.
I would say Bird's only issues are 1. her incessant grazing going down the trail (if I have any readers left, feel free to leave comments on how to correct this behavior) and 2. she's as slow as chilled molasses. Good grief, this horse needs a crop! I know she can pick up too. We usually pick up a brisk trot or canter (sometimes gallop) on the uphill portions of the trail. Lady gets her big Quarter Horse hemi engine revved up from 0 to 60 up those suckers; it about leaves me hanging in mid air...ha ha ha. She is a cool mare, I wish I could clone her!
I’ve also decided it’s time to sell some of my hoarded horse show items. My Circle Y show saddle is too heavy and it’s been collecting dust for years…time to go! I have a stunning Les Vogt silver bit that I recently listed for sale for a STEAL!!!! I wasn’t thinking when I listed it, really. I had 2 takers almost immediately. The young trainer who is first in line hasn’t responded about when he’d like me to drop it off, so I’m hoping he had a change of heart because I’ve changed my mind. I DON’T WANNA’ SELL IT!!!! MINE MINE MINE. It is soooo pretty…I want to just keep it and put it on a shelf in my home so I can stare at it…lol. That said, we did agree on a price, so if he does contact me, it’s his. I hate my impulsive decisions sometimes.
Anyhoo…that’s about all I got!
Bird and Jane, kissy faced!I wonder why I have the eatin' on the run issue...maybe I should not allow snacking!
A portion of the trails we ride. This is our favorite break spot!
My purty Les Vogt bit. Say it ain't sold!
Until next time!
Happy Trails! J

My only advice would be to KICK when she wants to graze on the trail when she is not allowed. :)
